This is the Konrad Zuse computer it was invented in 1934. It was built between 1935 and 1936. It was the first freely programmable computer in the world it used Boolean logic and binary floating point numbers. However it was unreliable in operation. It was completed in 1938 and financed by private funds. It was destroyed in the bombardment of Berlin in December 1943 in World War 2.
This is the ABC computer it was invented in 1942. It was the first electronic digital computing device. In 1937 the computer was not programmable. It was designed only to solve linear equations. It was successfully tested in 1942 however a paper card reader or writer was unreliable. When the inventor left Iowa State College for World War 2 assignments the work on the computer was discontinued.
This is the Harvard Mark 1 computer and it was invented in 1944. It was built out of the following switches, relays, rotating shafts, and clutches. It had over 756,000 components in it. it had hundreds of miles of wire 51 feet in length, 8 feet in height, and 2 feet deep. It had a weight of about 10,000 pounds.
this is the ENIAC computer and it was invented in 1946. It was designed to calculate artillery firing tables. It was announced in 1946 they called it a giant brain. It boasted speeds faster than any other. A huge leap in technology that no other has ever matched since. It used ten position ring counters to store digits. Each digit had 36 vacuum tubes. This is a video about the ENIAC computer. It will have plenty of info, fun facts, and lots of things about our first computer. Thanks to this computer we now have all of the modern day computers we have today. I am very thankful for all of our accomplishments which would not be possible if the ENIAC computer was never made.
