Computers
From the very first computer to the modern day computers we use now technology has changed a lot. The first computers were developed between 1940 and 1945 by the U.S and the UK. At one time computers were as big as a large room but now they can be as small as mobile phones. A computer has at least one processing element usually a central processing unit or CPU and some kind of memory. Now days we have PCs or personal computers which are powered by small batteries.
The many forms of personal computers are icons of information age which is what most people think of as computers. The first time the word “computer” was recorded in 1613 to refer to someone who did calculations this continued till the 20th century. The history of the computer began with two technologies calculation and programmability. Here is a timeline.
In 1934 Konrad Zuse computer
1942 ABC computer
1944 Harvard Mark I computer
1946 ENIAC computer
1948 Manchester baby computer
1947/48 the Transitioner
1951 UNIVAC computer
1953 IBM computer
1954 Fortran computer
1958 ERMA and the MICR
1962 Spacewar computer game
1971 Intel core processor
1973 the Ethernet computer networking
1975/77 the Scelbi
1978 VisiCalc
1979 Word star
1981 IBM home personal computer
And so on till we got the things like Ipads, I phones, laptops, and everything we enjoy today.
These were all great computers, processors, and accessories in the times that they were created by many different companies and people. And in some of the times they were created is surprising because of things like the bad economy, money, war, ECT. Without these older accomplishments we would not have any of the things we have today this is why we should not take these things for granted or mock the past.
